Photography students completed their latest assignment and the results amazed me as usual.  Photography is a new elective that we are offering at our school.

2nd SEMESTER

We are half way through the school year and have had a strong start to the 2nd semester here in the art room!

ART I began their painting unit this quarter.  For our first project we worked with watercolor paint.  We were inspired by the work of a current artist named: Jeff Jag.  He has several videos on youtube and lots of art work on line.  The students watched a demo video and then they were given paint and paper.  All of the work was 100% original which makes an art teacher so proud!

ART II

Art 2 completed their portrait drawings in pencil.  Here are a few of my favorites.  All three very different in style and technique.

 

WHAT IS CURRENT?

ART I is working on Heart Themed Mandala Designs in Watercolor and Tempera Cakes.

Art II is working on Impressionist Painting Reproductions.  The subject is still life.

Both ART I and II have been assigned a sketchbook assignment entitled:

HEART TREE

I am excited to see how they interpret that title/subject.

We will share all of this with you in about 2 weeks time.
