Here is what is new in the high school art room so far this year.
Art II students began the year by learning about Installation Art and they created this collaborative piece to install in our high school cafeteria.
It gives the room some color and makes the lunch room an even happier place.
ART I
Art I just completed a 2-D Mixed Media Design Project. We used photographs printed from the internet for the heads and cut them out and glued them to a large piece of all purpose paper. The students drew designs with Sharpie to represent hair. They also added color pencil to highlight or emphasize some of the designs. I was very pleased with how they turned out.
This year, we are really concentrating on the work we do in our individual sketchbooks. I have encouraged the students to work in their sketchbooks as much as they can. Here are some great pages that came out of this weeks selection.
Upcoming Projects
Art I students are currently working on an assignment titled Coffee and Cupcakes. It is a design project using magazines and glue to create a collage.
Art II students began work on Children's Book Illustrations.
Art III, IV and Honors Art will be showing work from their sketchbooks in a week or so. We only give sneak peaks of their projects so that we will not spoil the end of year art show.
